Apple Vision Pro Review: The AR Headset That Puts Apple on Top?

Apple has always been reputed to make smooth game changers gadgets- iPhones, Apple Watch. They are now in an entirely new world with the Apple Vision Pro, the mixed reality headset that will merge both the real and digital worlds. But the question that remains is; is it really worth the hype? A little more closely, then, what is so special about this futuristic device – and whether it is worth all the hype.

What Is the Apple Vision Pro?

Apple Vision Pro is an extended reality (AR) headset of Apple. In contrast to the virtual reality (VR), which immerses you into a new digital world, AR introduces some digital elements into the surrounding reality.

It is like being able to see your surrounding and at the same time, you can even play with apps, videos, and even interact with 3D people. Just think that you would be able to read your emails in a mountain cabin – or see a huge movie screen drift floating in front of your couch. That is the experience that Vision Pro will offer.

Design and Comfort

Apple was, as usual, concentrated on design. Vision pro resembles smooth ski goggles that are constructed of aluminum and glass and can be fitted with a tight band that is soft and adjustable to fit into your head. It is not as comfortable on the long-term use, but it is surprisingly comfortable on a short-term use even with its futuristic appearance.

It also has a tiny external battery pack via a cable, that is used to power the headset on a time of approximately two hours. It is not ideal, but it serves to make the headset not so heavy because the battery is inserted.

Display and Performance

This is where Apple really excels itself. The sharpness of Vision Pro display is unbelievable – it is ultra-sharp, bright, and realistic. You get a feeling that you look through the window instead of a screen. Every eye is provided with a 4K display and the colors are vivid and natural.

It is fast and powered by the same Apple chip (M2) as MacBooks, so it performs well, be it watching films, browsing apps, or making FaceTime calls. Controllable by use of eyes, hands, and voice, it is magic once you learn how to do it.

Features That Stand Out

Spatial Video & Photos: You are able to record and see 3D memories which are almost real.

Virtual workspace: This is a program that lets you transform any room into an office, by opening as many screens as you want.

Entertainment Mode: See movies or play games on a huge virtual screen.

FaceTime in 3D: Look at realistic digital images of your friends or co-workers when you are making calls.

This is referred to as spatial computing by apple, and is akin to residing within a personal digital universe.

The Downsides

Naturally, it has certain disadvantages. The biggest one? The price. The Vision Pro costs a lot, namely, approximately 3,500. Its battery life and application availability are also not good at the moment. It is rather a preview of what is to come in headsets of the future than something that people can use on a daily basis.

Conclusion

An Apple Vision Pro is a gorgeous technological work and it seems to be a glimpse into the future. It is strong, engaging and very stylish – but then again costly and somewhat unrealistic in normal day usage.

Nonetheless, it is obvious that Apple has left a new benchmark on how AR may be. The Vision Pro is not just an ordinary device but a bold move towards the world when the boundary between digital and reality does not exist.
